“We were going to shoot two of them back-to-back,” said McBride, who co-wrote the Halloween script with Green and Jeff Fradley (Vice Principals). “Then we were like, Well, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. This could come out, and everyone could hate us, and we’d never work again. So, let’s not have to sit around for a year while we wait for another movie to come out.”

Horror At The Box-Office

Although raising the amount of theaters the film has entered, Hereditary has dropped down a fairly large amount in the rankings. The hype surrounding the film is still as heavy as it was upon the films initial festival screening but it seems that they aren't able to push the amount of theaters showing the film high enough in order to make a real difference.

Next week however, we have the latest installment in the Jurassic Park Franchise making its way to the public. “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” is going to easily take over the charts and I personally take this as a win for the genre crowd, regardless of your thoughts!

HORROR SHOP OF THE WEEK: SICKWIX

Remember a couple of weeks ago when I told you I was completely obsessed with things that smell good? To that end, I’m thrilled to introduce you to one of my favorite shops. If you’re not already familiar with the stunning Sickwix and her delightfully dark candle magic, you absolutely should be!

This female-owned indie shop specializes in Horror-inspired, hand-poured candles and wax melts that smell incredible and, if it’s possible, look even better. Housed in gorgeous glass tumblers that can be repurposed as killer containers once the wax is used up, these candles look absolutely amazing as part of any horror collection.

You can select from a large variety of candles inspired by some of your favorite horror films old and new, including IT, Child’s Play, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Witch, Trick ‘R Treat, and more. Once you select the style you want, you get to choose your own delicious fragrance — ranging from sinfully sweet to wickedly dark and smoky.

The candles are all handcrafted and lovingly prepared in small batches, made from pure paraffin with natural braided cotton or wood wicks. Each one boasts a killer throw, which is candle junkie speak for an incredibly fragrant scent that fills an entire room. They are also long lasting, typically burning for around 20-30 hours depending on the size.

More often than not, those who purchase from Sickwix become loyal and rabid fans. On her Instagram page (@sickwix), she will regularly post customer collections, highlighting those devotees who have several (if not all) of her incredible designs. While I don’t have as many as I’d like, I can personally attest that the addiction is very real!

In addition to her standard jar candle offering (which is really anything but standard!), Sickwix has also created some truly inspired wax works of art, which are sometimes available for sale via her shop. You can click here to check out a gallery of some of her impressive work. I am the proud owner of one of her Michael Myers sculpts, and it’s easily one of my most prized possessions.

Owner J Fear (Miss Wix) has the uncanny ability to make each customer feel like he or she is the most important and valued of all. Each order includes extra touches that show how much she cares and truly loves her craft, including lovely handwritten notes and extras tailored to your order.

Exceptionally lovely, extraordinarily creative, and endlessly entertaining, Sickwix’s Instragram page is also — as the kids like to say — goals. Be sure you’re following for all her killer content, as well as announcements regarding new product releases and limited special offers.

Check out her jaw-dropping work and do some shopping over at her Etsy store at https://www.etsy.com/shop/SickWix/.

Note: Keep in mind that all of the candles are handmade by one person as they are ordered. So please be patient and be prepared for production time to last at least a couple of weeks, on average, before the candle is ready to ship. Trust me, it will be more than worth the wait!
