We had a hankering for some Stephen King, so we decided to review one of his many mini series available. One that we hadn't seen in a long while. The Tommyknockers (1993)! "The small town of Haven becomes a hot-bed of inventions all run by a strange green power device. They're digging something up in the woods, and only an alcoholic poet can discover the secret of the Tommyknockers..." Finally we are review the Scanners Franchise! Starting with the original trilogy of Scanners and then Scanner Cop 1 & 2 Next week! 5 bloody head bursting movies using MIND POWERS! It of course all starts with David Cronenberg's Hard Sci Fi brain buster of Scanners (1981). That delves into the different factions fighting for scanner dominance. Then onto Scanners 2 The New Order (1991) where another shady group tries to control the scanners for their personal power grab and domination of a city. Then finally a review of Scanners 3 The Take Over (1991) where a sister tries out a new scanner drug that makes her go crazy and it takes her scanner brother to stop her from WORLD DOMINATION. Only this time it's going get REALLY silly. 3 movies with 3 different tones. To start the Scanner franchise! JOIN US!

Ep244 Raiders of Atlantis (1983) & Warriors of the Year 2072 (1984) Reviews!

Ooohh! Something different this week? Yep. We are taking Horror Directors and seeing what their Sci Fi Action Post Apoc Films are like. Starting with Ruggero Deodato (director of Cannibal Holocausts) RAIDERS of ATLANTIS (1983). A whacky adventure of Mike and Washington who take on Atlantis On Bullet at a time. Atlantis doesn't have a chance... Then we resurface for Lucio Fulci’s (Director of City of the Living Dead) WARRIORS OF THE YEAR 2072 (1984). Essentially "The Running Man" movie that Dadarno Sachetti claims ripped off his story. Which was based on the 1982 Novel of the same title by Stephen King. Coincidence? or Ripoff? You be the judge.

This Thursday we dive into our Flesh and Potatoes Segment of the Sci Fi Roger Corman variety. That's right, we pick 2 movies that people love to pair. Forbidden World and Galaxy of Terror. Two insanely 80's movies to tickle your alien rip off fantasies.

Forbidden World is a story of a group of scientists who are studying how to solve hunger and accidentally create a creature that grows to kill them all. Can they be saved by the greatest Trouble Shooter in the Galaxy? With plenty of over the top gore and acting. This one is sure to fill you with excess as the alien tears your flesh apart with it's Proto B juices.

Then we dive head first into another sci fi alien rip off classic Galaxy of Terror. The cast is chock full of NOW seasoned actors including Robert Englund and Sid Haig. When a spaceship and crew travel to a distant planet to rescue another crash landed spacecraft. They find out they are not alone. In fact there is a large pyramid on the planet that can bring their nightmares to life.
