VOIDTOBER FINAL!? Is it really over already?! Not really. One more week next week. However, this week is super special. It's 2 movies that our some of most favorite films of the past 10 years. We have begun our journey into VOIDTOBER! It's Halloween BTV STYLE! All MONTH LONG! We let you know what the deal is this week with a couple of horror comedies from the 80s! Starting with THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK (1987). Where 3 women in a small town wish a man into existence that is much more like a Charming Devil or a Warlock. Things go great for awhile but eventually they see how Evil he is. Jack Nicholson, Michele Pheiffer, Cher and Susan Sarandon star in the movie! We also spill all the tea about the making of the movie. FUN STUFF! Then we jump into Tim Burtons BEETLEJUICE (1988). Where Michael Keaton stars as the Host with the Most Beetlejuice who is hired by a recently deceased couple named the Maitlands played by Alec Baldwin & Geena Davis who have a new annoying family moving in and they need them scared out. The movie that made Winona Ryders Career too! We tell you all the juicy trivia details about BOTH of these movies and I GURANTEE you don’t know them all. It's Pride Month! So we picked a couple of Queer Friendly Horror Films by Writer/Director Ron Oliver who made a few horror movies we wanted to talk about this week! HELLO MARY LOU Prom Night 2 (1987) & Prom Night 3 The Last Kiss (1990). One he directed and both that he wrote. One of the two is Alex's favorite movie of recent times. This is Christina's first time watching them. About a girl from the 50s who was bound for hell and was accidentally burned alive on Prom Night and has come to the future to exact he revenge on the school and her past friends. Both of these movies pay heavy homages to some of the great slashers of the 80's and we discuss a lot about Ron Oliver's life and both of his movies. JOIN US!
It's Pride Month! So we picked a couple of Gay Slasher films for the month to celebrate. One wielding a Sickle and another sticking people with a Pitchfork. Oohhhhhhh yeah. Both of these films were new to us this week and maybe a few of you? We kick things off with a very vivid dream Alex had about Christina Joining a cult. Then we jump into the reviews of HELLBENT (2004) a killer is on the loose in West Hollywood and he collecting heads. He seems to only kill those who are gay. Next we review PITCHFORK (2016) Hunter and his gang of friends join him on coming out to his father on their farm. Soon they find that a killer is on the loose and picking off his friends and family one by one. See what we thought of these slasher films that we have never seen before, with loads of trivia and poor humor. JOIN US!
This week we take a trip into the subterranean layer of the subways and the horror that prevails within it's tunnels in movies. We do so with a review of the movie CREEEP (2004). A story about a woman who while on a mission to meet George Clooney gets trapped in the London Underground and has to fight to survive what is lurking in it's shadows. Then we review END OF THE LINE (2007) and apocalyptic film by the director of SLAHSERS (2001). Where another gril of course wanders down into the subway system in Montreal and a doomsday religious cult starts taking out people to send them to heaven. It's a new episode with a new skit?! Yeah Alex hasn't done one in a long time but felt spicy this morning and made it. Summer is practically here so we reviewed BEACH movies! Summer is coming.. and it will eat you alive. Two movies about beach that EAT PEOPLE!? You got that right. If you thought social climate was bad wait till you see what these beaches are packing. First we review BLOOD BEACH (1980) Where the residents of Santa Monica County are disappearing without a trace. It's up to 2 Beach Patrol dudes and a whole squad of police to find out what is eating people. Then we review THE SAND (2015). A Syfy original? I know I know! But this one is actually pretty fun. It's about a bunch of college kids who throw a party on the beach and wake up to find their friends missing and that anyone who tries to leave the beach is devoured. Heck of a morning... We didn't think we would be back to Aliens so quick. This time it's not about humans being abducted. It's our little green friends getting abducted by some of us humans! That's right we kick it off this week with the director of The Blair Witch Projects Eduardo Sanchez movie called ALTERED (2006). About a group of guys who hunt down an alien for revenge of one of their friends who died by them. Now it's time to find out what makes them tick. Then we review the movie DEVILS GATE (2016) About a man who lost his wife and child to an event and he secretly is hiding an Alien, Demon or Angel in his basement to get them back. We are back for a Weird AF Wonders Episode of Rat People Proportions. That's right.. we review two movies that may just blow your mind. First we talk about RATBOY (1986) where a young teenage Rat "BOY" is found and exploited by a woman and her two brothers to become FAMOUS. However the story behind the movie may just be the more interesting story. So you will NOT want to miss the Spoiler Section on this one. It has some pretty wild trivia that Christina gets heated about involving Clint Eastwood? Yep. Then we discuss RAT MAN (1988) about a genetically engineered or rather human sperm induced rat baby starts shredding models on a jungle island. Enough to bring David Warbeck & Janet Agren (of The Beyond & City of the Living Dead Fulci Movie Fame) to save the day. Then we review a Horror Comedy Dr. GIGGLES (1992) About a son of a doctor who's father practiced some pretty heinous experiments on the local townsfolk of a small city. We will be covering all the movies in the franchise starting today with SCREAM (1996) & SCREAM 2 (1997) by Wes Craven! That's right the franchise that plagued/blessed the 90's is back in a big way. Voidtober: The Return of your favorite podcast idiots. This week we continue Voidtober with 2 movies that were the 2nd sequels in their respective franchises that took about a decade to come out. That's right we review The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986). Where the family returns for some good ol human chili and wreak havoc in Texas once more a decade later. We talk about how different this one was from the first entry. Then we take on Phantasm 2 (1988) which came out a few years later in a completely different styled film about the Tall Man and friends returning to the world of the living to take out multiple towns, but he isn't alone. Where a power hungry leader is losing to the king of the lands and he decides to turn to an evil warlock for help. They destroy the lands and claim power. The son of the last king grows up and exacts his revenge on the evil NEW KING! Then we take on space wizards with KRULL (1983) about a marriage that is interrupted by the evil black army and it's frog faced alien warlock stealing the princess. It's up to Colwyn and a rag tag group of raiders, conjurers and cyclops to take on the evil! It's all in this weeks episode. Which Christina and Alex get pretty wild on this one. We return from our 4th of July Break with a couple of 70s films the will Bug the crap out of you and make you Squirm. That's right the 70's was a time when the US was actually worried about the earth exacting it's revenge on us by subjecting us to killer nature. So this week we review BUG (1975) about an earthquake that unleashes a new breed of bug that starts fires and feeds on us. Then we review SQUIRM (1976) Where a storm knocks down a power grid and electrifies the ground so bad that blood worms become ravenous flesh eating terrors. Where a closed theater is reopened to start a horror movie 3D marathon in the likes of the 50's shocko-rama style.
