The Revenge of VOIDTOBER is sweet. This week we bring to you a few very different spooky house movies. No comparison other than they pretty much WOULD have the same Rating. What can a horror film do with a PG or PG-13 Rating? Can it still be scary? Or entertaining? We discuss POLTERGEIST (1982). One of the most classic American Horror films ever to hit the screen. We discuss the movie and why it's so good and what it would have been with the original script! Then we take a turn for another film. One that has NOT been as popular but may have a few things in it you will like. THE APPARITION (2012). A story about a group of kids who with the help of technology will into existence an evil entity that can and does melt reality around them. They think it's a simple ghost haunting but it's so much more. We talk about the movies good and bad in this one. Was it as bad as everyone says it is? JOIN US in finding out all the trivia and fun about both of these films for VOIDTOBER's REVENGE!
We are all getting OLD.. You can't avoid it. It's coming for you one way or another. But have you ever thought about how? Well, we picked a few horror movies that have old folks attacking the younger generations in two elderly horror fun filled movies we watched and reviewed. THE VISIT (2015) about a couple of kids who seek out their mothers estranged parents to finally visit them and find out who they are. Only when they get there things start to get pretty scary. OLD PEOPLE (2022) After years of neglect and being pushed to the side into forgotten homes and hospitals the elderly get filled with rage and start killing off everyone they come into contact. In a super serious and pretty bloody film. It's the NIGHT of the LIVING Olds.... JOIN US!
It's Pride Month! So we picked a couple of Queer Friendly Horror Films by Writer/Director Ron Oliver who made a few horror movies we wanted to talk about this week! HELLO MARY LOU Prom Night 2 (1987) & Prom Night 3 The Last Kiss (1990). One he directed and both that he wrote. One of the two is Alex's favorite movie of recent times. This is Christina's first time watching them. About a girl from the 50s who was bound for hell and was accidentally burned alive on Prom Night and has come to the future to exact he revenge on the school and her past friends. Both of these movies pay heavy homages to some of the great slashers of the 80's and we discuss a lot about Ron Oliver's life and both of his movies. JOIN US!
This week we dip into some movies with serial killers in them. Real and fake. First off with Manhunter (1986) which is taken from the Hannibal Lecter book series better known as Red Dragon. Only long before Anthony Hopkins came along to play the part. Then we dip into Summer Of Sam (1999) a movie by Spike Lee about the Son of Sam or rather the neighborhoods that were affected by the actual killer back in the day. We talk about both movies and why we like or dislike them. It was a fun episode to talk about for a change. Join us!
This week we decided to pick killer cats & dolls as our horror topic. Both Comedies! First with a web series turned feature film about a cat that is possessive of it's owner. Or should I say Possessed? w/ HELL'S KITTY (2018). Then we dive into an Elmo like doll that comes to life when a guy decides to grow up and throw away his childhood. Benny does not Love it. In Fact, he kills because of it in many wonderful bloody ways. w/ BENNY LOVES YOU (2019). All this and all the trivia your little horror brains can take! Plus we announce our winner for the giveaway!
We review a couple of new Vinegar Syndrome Releases that were sent to us. Two movies we both had not seen before too. One a slasher in the middle of Rush Week (1989) w/ a killer that preys on the ladies at the college. Is it the local frat or is it much more sinister?! Then we review Last Gasp (1995). Where a murderous developer Leslie played by Robert Patrick (T2) kills off an entire tribe in Mexico and is possessed by the remaining native in their final and last gasp. It's all in this weeks episode with tons of trivia! See what we thought and more.
